HopeBridge 5K Fun Run for Education

Lace up your shoes and run for a child’s right to learn. Our annual 5K welcomes runners of all ages and fitness levels — whether you sprint, jog, or walk, every step you take raises funds for school construction, teacher training, and free textbooks for children who have never owned a book. Last year, 620 runners collectively raised $48,000 in a single morning.

Volunteer Build Week: Classroom for 80 Children

Join 40 passionate volunteers for five days of hands-on construction in rural Guatemala, where 80 children currently study in a crumbling one-room building that floods every rainy season. No construction experience is required — our local site supervisors guide every task. Accommodation, all meals, tools, and airport transfers from Guatemala City are fully included. This is not just a volunteering trip — it is a life-changing experience for you and for 80 children who will call this school their own.

Ending Child Poverty: What Actually Works — Live Webinar

Join our Founder Dr. Sarah Johnson and three field programme directors for a candid, evidence-based conversation about what interventions genuinely break the cycle of childhood poverty — and which well-intentioned approaches fail. Attendees will hear directly from two beneficiaries: Amina, who went from sponsored student to teacher, and David, a community health worker trained through our mobile clinic programme. A live Q&A session follows the presentations. This event is completely free — a donation of any amount at registration helps us reach more families.

Back-to-School Supply Drive — 5,000 Kits for 5,000 Kids

Every August, tens of thousands of children in our partner communities begin the school year without a single pencil, notebook, or backpack — not because they don’t value education, but because their families simply cannot afford it. This week-long city-wide supply drive collects new backpacks, notebooks, pens, rulers, and calculators at 18 drop-off locations across New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles. Drop-off stations are set up at partner schools, libraries, and community centres. Our 2024 drive collected 4,200 kits — this year, we’re aiming for 5,000. Every kit you donate stays together and reaches one specific child.

Pedal for Purpose — 100 Miles for Clean Water

Saddle up for our most ambitious fundraising challenge yet. 150 cyclists will tackle a scenic 100-mile route from central London through the Surrey Hills, raising pledged sponsorships for our clean water well programme. Each pound raised goes toward drilling deep-water wells in rural Ethiopia and Bangladesh — where one well provides safe water to an entire village for over 20 years. Our 2024 cycling challenge raised £68,000 — enough to drill 17 wells. Choose from three distances: 30, 60, or 100 miles. Experienced marshals, nutrition stops every 10 miles, and a celebration finish line party are all included.

Why Attending a HopeBridge Event Matters

When you attend, sponsor, or participate in one of our events, you are not simply buying a ticket. You are becoming part of a global movement of people who believe every child deserves a fair chance.

100% Verified Impact

Every dollar raised at our events is tracked and reported. You receive a post-event impact report showing exactly what your participation funded — whether a school desk, a medical checkup, or a water well.

Community of Purpose

Our events attract change-makers: entrepreneurs, educators, healthcare workers, students, and families who share one belief — that kindness, organised and sustained, can reshape the world. The connections you make last far beyond the event itself.

Full Tax Deductibility

All event registration fees and donations are fully tax-deductible. As a registered 501(c)(3) organisation, we issue a detailed tax receipt immediately after your registration — no paperwork required on your end.

Inspiring Real Stories

At every HopeBridge event, you will hear directly from the people your support is transforming — whether it is Amina, a former sponsored child now teaching at the school we built, or Fatima, whose daughter now has access to clean water and attends school every day.

Can’t Attend in Person?

There Is Still a Powerful Way You Can Help

Not every act of generosity requires showing up in person. You can host your own fundraising event — a birthday donation drive, a workplace bake sale, or a community walk — and every penny you raise comes directly to HopeBridge. Alternatively, remote volunteers help with social media, grant writing, translation, and IT support from anywhere in the world. If neither fits, a one-time or monthly donation creates lasting, measurable impact with zero effort on your schedule.

Event Questions Answered

Frequently Asked Questions

Have a question before you register? We have answered the most common ones below. If you still need help, email events@hopebridge.org and we will respond within 24 hours.

Are HopeBridge events family-friendly and suitable for children?
Most of our events, including the 5K Fun Run, the School Supply Drive, and our community fundraisers, are fully family-friendly and welcome children of all ages. The Annual Gala is an adults-only formal dinner event. Each event listing clearly states the age policy and whether children require a separate registration. We strongly encourage families to attend together — children who participate in charity events develop a lasting habit of compassion and civic responsibility.
Are event registration fees tax-deductible?
Yes, to the extent permitted by law. HopeBridge Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) public charity. For paid events, the tax-deductible portion is your registration fee minus the fair market value of any goods or services received (for example, a meal, T-shirt, or medal). We provide a detailed tax receipt by email within 24 hours of registration that specifies the deductible amount. We recommend consulting your tax advisor for your specific situation. International attendees should check their local regulations.
Can I attend HopeBridge events if I am outside the United States?
Absolutely. Our virtual events — including webinars and online fundraising challenges — are open to participants worldwide with no geographic restrictions. Our in-person events take place in New York, Chicago, London, and Guatemala in 2025. International guests are warmly welcomed at all in-person events. For the Guatemala Volunteer Build Week, airport transfers from Guatemala City are included, and we can assist with accommodation recommendations near the site. Contact us at events@hopebridge.org for any international logistics assistance.
What is the refund policy if I register but cannot attend?
We understand that plans can change. For most events, registrations are fully transferable — you may pass your ticket to a friend or family member at no charge by notifying us at events@hopebridge.org at least 48 hours before the event. Cash refunds are available up to 14 days before the event date, minus a $5 processing fee. Within 14 days of the event, registrations are non-refundable but may be converted into a charitable donation (for which you will receive a tax receipt). The Guatemala Volunteer Build Week has a separate cancellation policy detailed in the programme contract.
How can I sponsor or partner with HopeBridge as a corporate entity?
We welcome corporate sponsors across all event tiers. Sponsorship packages start at $2,500 and include prominent logo placement, dedicated social media posts to our 85,000+ combined followers, speaking opportunities at select events, and a detailed post-event impact report for your CSR reporting. Gold ($5,000+) and Platinum ($15,000+) sponsors receive premium benefits including exclusive donor dinners and branded programme reports. Contact our partnerships team at partnerships@hopebridge.org for a full sponsorship prospectus and to discuss tailored packages.
Can I volunteer to help organise or run an event rather than attending as a participant?
Yes — and event volunteers are among our most valued contributors. We always need energetic, reliable volunteers for event setup, registration desk management, marshal duties during the 5K and cycling events, social media live coverage, translation support for virtual events, and post-event packing of supply drive kits. Event volunteering requires no prior charity experience, and you will receive a formal letter of recognition that is valuable for university applications, professional CVs, and corporate volunteering programmes. Apply via our volunteer page or email events@hopebridge.org with the subject line “Event Volunteer.”
